About The Opportunity A leading orthopedic and rehabilitation practice in Houston, TX is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (Part time). This position offers the chance to work with a multidisciplinary orthopedic care team using advanced rehabilitation techniques and state‑of‑the‑art facilities.

Position Summary The Physical Therapist Assistant works under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, providing hands‑on care and ensuring patients receive personalized, high‑quality therapy consistent with their treatment plans. The PTA will collaborate closely with physical therapists and rehab technicians to help patients recover function, improve mobility, and reach their rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities

Execute treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.

Coordinate patient care involving the physical therapy and rehab tech teams.

Document all treatments accurately in compliance with clinical and HIPAA standards.

Ensure patient safety and comfort while maintaining a positive, motivating environment.

Comply with federal and state regulations governing physical therapy services.

Encourage and guide patients through the rehabilitation process to maximize outcomes.

Collaborate effectively within a team‑focused clinical environment.

Qualifications & Licensing Requirements

Active Texas PTA License – must have passed the PTA exam and hold a current license issued by the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

CPR Certification preferred.

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD‑10 coding.

Prior healthcare or orthopedic experience preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both patients and staff.

Advanced computer proficiency for electronic medical documentation.

Demonstrated problem‑solving abilities and critical thinking.

Detail‑oriented with high accuracy and compliance standards.

Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage a steady patient load.

Strong understanding of the interrelationship of PT department operations.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Moderate noise environment (e.g., office with computers, printers, light traffic).

Exposure to bloodborne pathogens – proper PPE required.

Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and lifting (up to 10 lbs regularly).

Daily interaction with 20+ patients, requiring occasional pushing and lifting.

Normal visual acuity, depth perception, and focus adjustment for EMR documentation and patient evaluation.

Must be able to work under occasional stressful conditions while maintaining professionalism and patient focus.

Work Setting In‑Office | Attire: Scrubs

Schedule: Mon/Wed/Fri (8‑10 hour shifts) – 7:00/8:00 AM – 5:00/6:00 PM

Employment Type: Part‑Time / PRN

Reports To: Director of Physical Therapy and Supervising Physical Therapist

Direct Reports: Rehab Technicians
