Dental Assistant – Heartland Dental – Dallas, TX
Join Heartland Dental as a Dental Assistant in a state‑of‑the‑art office where patient care, teamwork, and continuous learning are priorities. This full‑time position requires a passion for delivering excellent care while using modern technology and adhering to best practices.
Responsibilities
Greet and welcome patients, ensuring comfort and providing education throughout treatment.
Conduct thorough patient health history reviews to support quality care.
Take and process x‑rays, iTero 3‑D scans, and other diagnostic assessments.
Provide chairside assistance—including four‑handed dentistry—while adhering to state dental practice act requirements.
Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling, record keeping, and office workflow.
Maintain a clean, safe treatment room in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
Manage supply inventory, place orders, and expedite restocks as needed.
Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems for workflow optimization.
Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
Experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
Dental assistant and/or x‑ray certification (required under state dental practice act).
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Regular HIPAA training and PHI protection required.
Preferred Experience
1+ year in a dental setting.
Dentrix or other dental software experience.
Dental assisting school certification.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
Lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times.
Attend virtual training sessions periodically throughout the year.
TB test required for all new hires in dental office positions (state‑specific exceptions).
