About the Center The Bellucci Translational Hearing Center, which Dr. Steyger directs, is a major NIH-funded center that supports recruitment of faculty, staff, and postdoctoral fellows. The center offers various funding opportunities, including the Bellucci Postdoctoral Fellowship, which provides enhanced support for scholars in auditory and vestibular sciences.
Responsibilities The Postdoctoral Fellow will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, publishing results in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting findings at conferences.
Ototoxicity: The study of drug-induced hearing loss, particularly from common antibiotics (aminoglycosides) and chemotherapy agents (cisplatin).
Blood-Labyrinth Barrier: Understanding how the inner ear's protective barrier functions and how to effectively deliver drugs to treat hearing loss.
Translational Research: Bridging animal models of hearing loss to clinical applications and management.
Qualifications
Doctorate Degree
1+ years of postdoctoral or equivalent research experience
