Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) - NHMP Float Team Region C (Norwalk)
Title: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) - NHMP Float Team Region C (Norwalk)
Schedule: 8‑hour shifts 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Pay Range: $19.49 – $34.50 per hour. Sign‑on Bonus: $500 for external hires.

Job Summary: Provides clerical and administrative support and coordinates patient care activities for physician practice. Might work in primary care, specialty, and surgical offices.
Location: Float coverage for offices in Wilton, Norwalk, New Canaan, Darien, and Westport.
Responsibilities
Ensures accuracy of patient information, including demographics and insurance.
Performs reception duties and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
Answers phones, routes calls, takes messages, conveys information, and assures accurate communication.
Registers, verifies, and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
Reschedules cancelled, no‑show, and tickler appointments.
Processes record requests, including copying, billing, charging, and recording.
Collects co‑pays and reconciles money for deposit.
Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
Completes audits as assigned.
Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation via eFax.
Presents a professional appearance and image.
Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Maintains and models Nuvance Health values.
Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
1 year of customer‑related experience required.
Preferred: 1+ years of healthcare experience.
Reliable transportation is required.
