Overview Sentara Norfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a RN Traveler for the Stepdown/Med‑Surg Admissions/Discharge Unit!
This is a Temporary Full Time Night Shift Position.
$70 per hour for a Traveler Assignment.
Department / Position Overview This is a 16 bed Unit. The Nurse: Patient Ratio is 1:4 to 1:5 based on acuity and staffing. Patient Population: IMC/Med Surg – anticipate DKA, Alcohol Withdrawal, COPD exacerbation, Sickle Cell crisis, CHF exacerbation, Renal Failure, Dehydration, I&D.
Education Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required.
Certification / Licensure
Virginia or Compact Multi‑State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
ACLS
Experience Must have 2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN experience.
The Registered Nurse will work in a collaborative role as part of a team to maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice, in order to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community.
Responsibilities The Registered Nurse will assess/admit patients, perform rounding checks, administer medications, communicate with family members, and be responsible for the overall care of patients. Teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for patients.
