We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Primary Therapist to join our team in supporting individuals on their journey to substance use recovery and improved mental health. The ideal candidate will have experience working with both substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, all applicants MUST have a Master's Degree in Counseling, or a related field AND an active NJ license.
Each applicant shall be either an LCADC, LSW, LCSW, or LAC.
Job Responsibilities
Facilitate group counseling sessions as part of the program's structured schedule
Conduct clinical assessments to evaluate the clients' therapeutic needs
Determining the appropriate level of care according to ASAM criteria
Gather and review treatment records to inform clinical decision making
Work with clients to create individualized treatment plans that are measurable, goal-oriented, and aligned with recovery-focused care
Deliver a range of therapeutic services, including individual, group, and family sessions
Continuously assess and update treatment plans based on client progress and clinical observations
Develop aftercare and discharge planning to support continuity of care and long-term success
Perform other duties relevant to clinical services and team collaboration as needed
Requirements
Proficiency using electronic medical record systems
Familiarity with various clinical approaches and theoretical frameworks related to addiction and/or mental health treatment
Understanding of evidence base practices, treatment planning, relapse prevention strategies, and ongoing care for individuals with dual diagnosis
Ability to assess and apply diagnostic criteria for co-occurring disorders and determine appropriate levels of care
Culturally competent, with the ability to integrate gender-responsive care and address the unique needs of diverse populations in clinical practice
