A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to support an elementary school in Huntsville, AL, from the start of January semester through May 22, 2026. This contract role involves servicing a preK-8th grade student population with an established caseload that is currently split between two SLPs. Candidates should possess both in‑school and virtual therapy experience and hold an active Alabama license.

Key Responsibilities

Provide speech and language therapy to students primarily Monday through Thursday, with Fridays reserved for assessments.

Coordinate caseload management collaboratively with the co‑therapist, ensuring appropriate scheduling and service delivery.

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) using case management systems, preferably PowerSchool.

Work with para support staff to facilitate bringing students to therapy sessions.

Maintain compliance with Alabama state laws and school policies regarding special education services.

Qualifications And Experience

Active Alabama licensure as an SLP is required.

Experience working in school settings and providing virtual therapy.

Familiarity with Alabama special education regulations is preferred.

Knowledge of IEP development and case management software.

Ability to manage a sizable caseload with flexibility alongside another SLP.

Location and Schedule

Position is based in Huntsville, AL.

School day begins at 7:45 AM CST.

Full-time hours (37.5 per week), typically Monday through Friday with Fridays used for assessment time.
