A full-semester contract opportunity is available for skilled Speech‑Language Pathologists (SLP) with CCC certification to provide maternity leave coverage near Athens, AL. This role serves K‑12 public school students and requires expertise in managing diverse caseloads, including students with autism and multi‑needs.
Leave Positions Leave Position 1 – Johnson Elementary School
Location: Johnson Elementary School
Duration: January 12, 2026 – March 27, 2026
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 3:00 pm
Holidays observed: January 19, February 16, March 12
Student Age Range: Kindergarten through 5th Grade
Caseload: 50 to 55 students; includes case management and direct service provision
Special Focus: One 0‑4 LRE Autism classroom included in caseload
Leave Position 2 – Sugar Creek Elementary and West Limestone High School
Location: Sugar Creek Elementary and West Limestone High School
Duration: March 23, 2026 – May 21, 2026
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 3:00 pm
Student Age Range: 3rd Grade through 12th Grade
Caseload: 50 to 55 students; entails case management and direct service provision
Special Focus: Includes one 0‑4 LRE Autism classroom and one 0‑4 LRE multi‑needs classroom in caseload
Qualifications And Desired Experience
Current licensure as a Certified Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) with ASHA CCC required
Experience working with school‑aged children spanning early elementary through high school
Proven ability to manage caseloads including students with autism spectrum disorders and complex communication needs
Strong organizational and communication skills for effective case management and collaboration with educational staff
Responsibilities
Providing assessment, individualized therapy, and progress monitoring for assigned students
Case‑managing a large caseload with diverse needs, including autism‑specific classrooms
Collaborating closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
Maintaining compliance with school district policies and state regulations governing speech therapy services
