Summary of Job The Clinician II develops a recovery service plan and uses recovery-oriented therapeutic counseling to engage individuals in their individual recovery journey. The Clinician II also orients individuals to the program by collaborating and assessing needs, identifying challenges, and facilitating the development of goals in the treatment and recovery process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Guest Care & Advocacy:
Serves as the mental health professional for individuals until they are enrolled in services at another community agency, when applicable.
Conducts thorough clinical assessments and treatment plans for services.
Assesses the individual’s needs and provides appropriate support and referral.
Provides short- and long‑term recovery‑oriented therapeutic counseling and education, on a group or individual basis.
Provides family education and family counseling.
Facilitates recovery education courses.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Determines a provisional diagnosis, obtains documentation of medical necessity and submits authorizations for service in a timely fashion.
Completes clinical documentation as required.
Completes Incident Reports according to policy.
Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.

Job Requirements
Education/Licenses:
Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university.
Associate Licensure in good standing in an applicable Behavioral Health field required.
State professional certification where applicable.
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of behavioral health experience required.
Skills:
Basic computer skills.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Excellent documentation skills.
Ability to pay close attention to detail.
Ability to problem solve.
Effective listening skills.
Must be able to pass de‑escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
Driving Requirements:
If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations’ driving policy.
