TravelNurseSource is partnering with Fusion Medical Staffing to find a qualified Med/Surg RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Springfield, MA.

About The Position As a member of our team, you'll deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in medical‑surgical (med‑surg) and telemetry units. This role involves assessing patient health conditions, monitoring cardiac telemetry data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage diverse patient needs.
Required Qualifications
One year of recent Med‑Surg/Telemetry RN experience
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
Preferred Qualifications
NIHSS certification
ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Summary The Med‑Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive, high‑quality care in medical‑surgical and telemetry units, ensuring patient safety, effective communication, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Essential Work Functions
Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards
Conduct comprehensive assessments and document changes, reporting concerns to the care team
Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and assist physicians during treatments
Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgical procedures
Document comprehensive patient information in the medical record
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans
Prioritize care based on acuity and clinical needs while managing multiple patients efficiently
Adhere to infection control practices and safety protocols
Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences
Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate transitions from hospital to home
Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Computer proficiency and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
Professional demeanor and collaboration with diverse personnel
Adaptability to irregular activity schedules and high‑pressure environments
Clear vision and effective communication skills
