Job Title RN - Ambulatory - Wound Care - Grenada

Location UMMC-Grenada

Job Summary To assess, develop, implement and evaluate nursing care and treatment for patients in an assigned clinical area. Coordinate patient scheduling, record maintenance and admissions process. Counsel patients and families on treatment, act as liaison with case managers and other healthcare providers, and coordinate patient services in line with the medical center’s purpose.

Education & Experience Valid RN License.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of clinical nursing care procedures and protocols.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Interpersonal skills.

Knowledge and understanding of computer systems/EHR, tools and programs.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Knowledge of approved nursing care procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care by performing problem-focused assessments, planning, implementing and evaluating treatments and interventions; document care accurately in the electronic medical record.

Coordinate delivery of care within the practice setting and across health‑care settings; administer and coordinate resources and direct clinical activities.

Foster interdisciplinary collaboration to improve quality of care, patient satisfaction, safety and organizational performance.

Communicate openly with patients, caregivers and other health‑care professionals about patient care and the nurse’s role within the practice.

Ensure patients have access to appropriate, safe, effective, timely, efficient and equitable care, resulting in optimal health outcomes.

Serve as a mentor for new staff, colleagues and students; participate in orientation and ongoing education programs.

Preserve patients’ rights to confidentiality, privacy and self‑determination within legal, regulatory, and ethical parameters.

Demonstrate core standards of exceptional customer service.

Engage in practice and organizational initiatives that maintain a safe, ergonomic and comfortable environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Comply with policies, protocols and guidelines regarding infection prevention, biohazard disposal and environmental safety.

Physical and Environmental Demands Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments such as high noise levels, heat and cold, hazardous equipment, biohazardous conditions, and potential radiation; frequent bending, lifting up to 100 pounds, climbing, crouching, stooping, driving, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing and walking. Occasional overtime may be required.
