Nurse Clinical Senior/Critical Core/UKHC

Job Summary In the critical core program, nurses will apply the nursing process in caring for and counseling individuals, promoting health, preventing illness and injury, and supporting transitions of care. Nurses will care for patients at Good Samaritan and Chandler Hospitals, ranging from surgical complications, acute medical conditions, trauma, behavioral health, pain management, to end‑of‑life care. The role coordinates and manages all aspects of nursing care in a cost‑effective manner in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Shift Must work three 12‑hour shifts per week from 7:00 pm until 7:30 am; also required to work some weekend and holidays.
Responsibilities
Apply the nursing process to deliver direct patient care and clinical judgment.
Coordinate care plans and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team.
Advocate for patients and families and provide open, honest communication.
Conduct education, counseling, and restorative support for patients and families.
Maintain professional, respectful communication with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians.
Qualifications
BSN required.
Active Kentucky nursing license or active compact state nursing license in good standing.
AHA Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date.
ACLS certification.
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) certification.
Advanced national nursing certification required within 18 months of hire date.
2 years of ICU RN experience preferred.
Knowledge of Maslow’s eight Basic Human Needs and the priority within Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns Framework and Swanson’s Caring model.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills.
Excellent critical thinking, direct patient care, and technical skills.
Required Education / Related Experience
BSN.
2 years of ICU RN experience.
Salary Range $29.12–$45.70 per hour
