Position
Patient Care Tech (PCT)
Overview The PCT collaborates with nurses and doctors to provide personalized care for patients. They assist with medical tasks and help patients feel better and recover health.
Department Pulmonary
Shift 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, Full Time, 36 hours per week, 72 hours per pay period.
Facility Miami Valley Hospital
Responsibilities
Check vital signs, including temperature, heart rate, breathing rate.
Help patients move around, get dressed, and eat.
Collect samples such as urine.
Report any changes in a patient's condition to a nurse.
Walks, ADLs, weigh patients; measure vital signs.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Training: BLS CPR certificate (can be obtained in orientation).
Experience
Finished STNA, CNA, or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.
Helped care for patients in the past 5 years (e.g., taking their temperature, bathing them, or helping with restroom use).
In nursing school with one completed clinical rotation.
Other Skills
Can multitask while remaining courteous.
Computer literacy.
Organizational skills.
Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
Bonus: Hospital experience.
