Gardner Ma
The City of Gardner is seeking a full-time (37 hours per week) qualified Inspector of Wires to conduct electrical inspections and enforce the National Electrical Code and Massachusetts State Building Code. This is a temporary position with an undetermined duration, based on operational needs.
Responsibilities
Perform electrical inspections (rough, partial, and final)
Review and issue permits; maintain inspection records
Investigate complaints and enforce code compliance
Interpret electrical code requirements for contractors and the public
Coordinate with utility companies and City/state departments
Respond to emergency calls as required
Qualifications High school diploma and at least five (5) years of electrical experience, or equivalent Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician license required, valid driver’s license, strong communication and computer skills.
Special Requirements
Field-based work at construction sites in varying weather conditions
Physical ability to access job sites and lift up to 60 lbs
Emergency availability required
