Medical Office Nurse RN - OB/GYN (West Branch)
Summary
>Under direct supervision of the specialty provider, this RN will assess and care for OB/GYN patients, maintain accurate documentation, coordinate high‑quality compassionate care, and act as liaison with other providers. The RN will also order supplies, comply with MyMichigan Health policies, OSHA, CLIA, and train new staff. The RN will provide patient education, symptom management, emergency availability, monitor high‑risk patients, and coordinate continuity of care. General office duties (keyboarding, filing, telephone, computer) are also required. Responsibilities
Complete patient assessment and medication reconciliation (30%).
Triage calls, schedule urgent/add-ons, process refills, support consults and insurance pre‑cert (20%).
Coordinate care team and patient education (20%).
Assist provider with examinations and procedures (20%).
Prepare and clean patient area and dispose instruments (10%).
Demonstrate critical thinking and meet age‑specific population needs (other duties).
Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) with
BLS – Basic Life Support .
Associate’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
1‑month equivalent experience after hire or transfer.
Knowledge of electronic medical records, practice management, and clinic software.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Light physical demand, ability to stand, walk, lift 10–20 lbs., handle repetitive tasks, work in stressful and exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
