Job Description Clinical Educator works with the Education Manager, nursing management, and/or clinical preceptors to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the educational needs of externs, new and inexperienced RN & LPN staff, and Nursing Assistant employees. Directly supervises novice staff to develop and refine procedural skills, ensure competencies, and improve assessment and care‑planning skills. Mentors the inexperienced nurse in critical thinking, prioritization, documentation, professional communication, and patient advocacy, modeling exceptional service excellence. Provides feedback for performance appraisals of new employees, assists in remediation programs to ensure patient safety, plans and delivers educational programs for staff, validates competency on various shifts, provides in‑services on updated procedures, maintains proper records for compliance, and reviews and revises programs and content regularly.
Job Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania;
MSN or Master’s in Nursing Education preferred;
BSN (or significant work towards degree) required;
Minimum of five (5) years of recent clinical experience required;
Critical Care background preferred/helpful;
Previous clinical instruction/background in clinical nursing education necessary;
Supervisory experience desirable;
Excellent communication skills;
Excellent computer skills and electronic documentation ability;
Must be able to work competently with excellent clinical skills;
Excellent role model in the clinical area and as a professional;
Demonstrated high regard for patient safety initiatives;
BLS Instructorship required within 6 months of hire.
