Job Summary
Entry‑level Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist – cardiac and vascular imaging – at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy.
We offer a competitive sign‑on bonus of up to $10,000 and $10,000 in educational assistance for external candidates.
Responsibilities
Perform various diagnostic cardiology and/or peripheral vascular exams, including vascular imaging, cardiac imaging, and non‑invasive cardiac testing.
Corroborate clinical history and assess patient appropriateness for ordered procedures.
Provide patient education, apply patient‑relations skills, and maintain confidentiality of patients and customers in a safe and professional manner.
Assume responsibility for assigned area, reporting equipment malfunctions and procedure difficulties.
Complete quarterly mandatory education requirements.
Participate in department meetings, in‑service programs, and continuing education for personal and professional development.
Perform value‑added activities that result in positive customer satisfaction and/or financial performance.
Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities as assigned.
Participate in all safety, security, and infection control programs that are mandatory or required by the department.
Respond within 30 minutes when scheduled on‑call.
May require light travel or floating to other CHI Health facilities or outreach sites as needed.
Maintain a positive work environment and participate in departmental problem‑solving.
Perform other duties as assigned by the department leader.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent clinical job training.
Minimum of two registries in either Adult Cardiac Sonography (RDCS‑AE) – ARDMS, Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) – CCI, Vascular Technology (RVT) – ARDMS, or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) – CCI.
Graduates from a dual cardiac and vascular ultrasound program are eligible and must obtain both adult echo and vascular registries within 12 months of hire date.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of start date.
Licenses & Requirements
Minimum of two relevant registries as listed above.
Maintain current BLS certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Familiar with standard cardiac and/or peripheral vascular ultrasound views, equipment, and controls.
Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and upkeep.
Effective communication with team members, physicians, patients, hospital staff, and supervisors in a courteous and professional manner.
Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standards.
Demonstrates personal traits of motivation, quality, teamwork, professionalism, and integrity.
Ability to load ultrasound and diagnostic gear and operate vehicle large enough to accommodate equipment.
Where You'll Work At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy, a level I trauma and academic medical center offering comprehensive care including trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.
Pay Range $34.69 – $51.59 per hour
