Night Pharmacist – CVS Health

Job Purpose & Summary The Night Pharmacist delivers safe, accurate medication dispensing, patient counseling, and immunizations. The pharmacist serves as a role model for the pharmacy team, upholding performance metrics and ensuring compliance with state regulations.
Responsibilities
Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizations.
Support the Pharmacy Manager during noon shifts, coaching team members and providing feedback on performance.
Assume day‑to‑day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist‑on‑duty during overnight shifts.
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures, ensuring safety guardrails are used at every workstation.
Demonstrate empathy and coaching to improve patient experiences and resolve insurance/medication issues.
Deliver immunizations and engage pharmacy technicians in learning to immunize.
Coach the pharmacy team to maintain inventory best practices, protecting cold chain products.
Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations and to resolve issues promptly.
Contribute to a safe, inclusive team dynamic and support schedule writing as directed.
Maintain clinical and technical skills and seek opportunities to expand knowledge for patient support.
Deliver pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception).
Comply with all federal, state, and CVS policies governing prescription safety, controlled substances, recordkeeping, patient privacy, and workplace security.
Qualifications
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
Strong customer service, communication, and mathematical reasoning skills.
Physical ability to lift, scan, bag, and move items up to 20 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
1–2 years of experience in a pharmacy or related setting.
Availability to work in other locations as business needs require.
Pay & Benefits Typical pay range: $60.00 – $76.00 hourly. Eligible for bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs.
