Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist - Main OR
Under the supervision of the surgeon, the CST‑FA performs first assistant duties during the surgical procedure and, as needed, acts as the Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room. The position requires accountability for surgical instruments, coordination of patient care with team members, and adherence to patient rights and confidentiality while upholding Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

Responsibilities
Perform first assistant duties under the surgeon’s supervision during surgical procedures.
Serve as a Surgical Technologist in the OR as needed.
Maintain accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team.
Coordinate the care of the surgical patient with other team members.
Maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
Carry out duties consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years Surgical Technologist scrub experience.
Required education: Surgical Technology experience or graduate with a degree in Surgical Technology, or completion of certification from an accredited surgical technology program preferred.
Certifications: BLS through the American Heart Association.
