Team Overview: Do you have strong technical aptitude with a desire to be part of financial planning? If so, this could be the right opportunity for you! Financial Planning Tools & Capabilities lead the development of financial advice and planning capabilities integrated with the firm's Advice & Guidance. The team partners with stakeholders to align and execute these strategies and capabilities to empower branch teams to confidently deliver premium client experiences. In addition, the group drives innovations that will enhance products, services, processes, and systems to meet our current and future client needs. These areas play a pivotal role in supporting the firm's goals of deeply serving clients and associates serve as the firm's subject‑matter experts for their respective areas.

What You Will Do:

The Advising Specialist serves as a technical and practical subject‑matter expert for the Financial Planning and Advice area. Much of this work requires a broad and deep understanding of the firm's Advice & Guidance while bringing it to life in branch desktop tools and capabilities.

Apply firm's A&G across all of Edward Jones systems and tools by updating and applying our A&G (e.g. CMAs, white papers, strategy reports, diagnostics, portfolio construction, etc.) through all firm delivery channels for intermediate level projects.

Evaluate the firm's A&G content to ensure consistency and alignment with oversight.

Ensure that development work maximizes value and is aligned with overall firm strategy and A&G.

Work with agile and non‑agile development, design, data, business stakeholders, and vendors to create and deliver products to end users.

Apply agile methods and processes to promote frequent inspection and adaptation of work priorities.

Partner with vendors and digital teams to define product needs and set priorities.

Collaborate with key stakeholders as the A&G representative throughout the life cycle of projects, including planning, design and implementation for intermediate level projects.

Serve as a representative for key stakeholders (Training, Service, CSG) and branch teams to ensure the integrity of the A&G is upheld through application and messaging.

Work in partnership with other firm areas (Service, Field Supervision, Compliance, Legal, Operations) to solve issues that arise regarding application of firm A&G that are less complex.

For less complex A&G topics, production issues and/or branch team escalations, coordinate needed expertise from other A&G units.

What Experience you Need:

Bachelor's degree; 1-2 years of relevant financial services experience

Series 7/66 required within 6 months of hire, consistent with department policy

Begin pursuing CFA or CFP within six months.

Technical aptitude – knowledge of the following: firm's A&G, investment products, portfolio construction, or one of the financial planning concepts.

Exposure to at least one of the following – foundational knowledge of investments, financial planning, financial planning topical area, financial planning tool(s)

Knowledge of Edward Jones client and branch team tools, including Financial Foundation, Portfolio, Proposal Tool, JonesLink and other related tools

Basic skills in some of the following areas:

Systems Thinking

Planning and Organizing

Project management

Verbal and written communication
