Job Description Dental Hygienists play an essential role in patient education and preventative dental care while also working in partnership with our doctors. The position offers a supportive environment and opportunities to learn about a variety of technologies. As a Hygienist, you will focus on building relationships with patients and communicating effectively to deliver an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Perform hygiene clinical procedures, including oral prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, sealants, fluoride, oral cancer screenings, and x‑rays.

Educate patients on the importance of oral hygiene, and demonstrate effective oral hygiene methods.

Communicate with the doctor regarding restorative and/or periodontal needs of patients.

Obtain and review patient dental history and records, ensuring current health history is updated for all returning patients.

Qualifications

Degree or certificate in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state license.

X‑ray/Radiology certification where state regulations specify.

Local anesthesia/nitrous oxide certification where state regulations specify.

Physical Requirements This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood‑borne pathogens is possible. Requirements include prolonged periods of standing, sitting, leaning, and bending up to 8 hours a day. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
