Job Summary & Qualifications As the RN Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator, you will lead the Trauma Program’s efforts to keep care safe and high‑quality from patient arrival until discharge. Working with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director, you will review cases, analyze system performance, use data to drive improvement, and ensure compliance with ACS standards and program requirements.
Responsibilities
Respond to trauma bays for all Trauma Alerts.
Ensure trauma bay readiness.
Model professionalism and mentor trauma nurse responders.
Coordinate and triage incoming trauma patients; review all activations for triage level appropriateness.
Act as a clinical liaison for pre‑hospital partners.
Maintain documentation compliance; perform audits and provide feedback.
Assist in coordinating admission consultations and response times for time‑sensitive needs.
Facilitate trauma bay time outs and debriefings with the primary surgeon.
Monitor care provision for trauma patients held in ED for admission.
Respond to in‑house trauma patients’ critical needs.
Daily rounding on in‑house trauma patients; provide outstanding customer service to patients and families.
Identify and report on trauma audit filters.
Job Requirements
Associate’s degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Florida RN license and/or approved multi‑state RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
BLS‑AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start.
3+ years of experience as an RN in an ED setting required.
ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
