Peer Recovery Specialist (4304)

Responsibilities Provides person-centered wellness focused support to engage individuals in treatment and promote use of the individual’s wellness recovery plan; shares firsthand lived experiences with recovery to inspire hope, increase engagement in treatment and the communities, and support individuals in articulating personal goals for wellness, recovery resiliency, and self-advocacy; has knowledge of signs and symptoms of mental illness and substance disorders and the ability to assist the individual to address symptoms using their wellness plan; provides peer support, serves as an advocate, carries out wellness rehabilitation, and supports functions; promotes recovery from substance use and/or mental health conditions; promotes employment, education, health, and community integration; serves as a role model for personal recovery; services include outreach, monitoring, advocacy, daily living support, crisis intervention, consultation to families, development of functional skills and appropriate behavior, transportation to implement the service plan, and similar functions; services may be rendered in the group setting or on an individual basis; participates in special events, conferences, workshops, and training within the mental health system and community; works closely with staff, hospitals, and other community agencies and organizations; documents all contacts and activities in the individuals’ records.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be, or previously have been, a recipient of mental health or substance use disorder services and should be well along in the recovery process
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Fingerprints, state and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request. Our Agency maintains a drug-free workplace.
Annual Salary Range : $37,832 - $66,206
3% Increase for Registered Peer Recovery Specialist Excellent Fringe Benefits
