Job Description Assists with the maintenance of a laboratory inventory and equipment. Supports the ordering and restocking of reagents for laboratory experiments which primarily use human tissues and pluripotent stem cell derived tissues in conjunction with genome engineering technology to elucidate novel ideas and concepts in the diabetes field.
Assists with lab compliance and administrative tasks. Works with administration and regulatory guidelines to keep the lab compliant. Handles fiscal organization, safety guidelines, shipping, travel arrangements, and other related tasks.
Culture and differentiation of human stem cell lines. Cell culture of human primary cells including pancreatic islets of Langerhans.
Molecular and histological analysis of tissues and cells; possibly including genomic DNA isolation, PCR, RNA isolation, gene expression analysis by qPCR and NGS sequencing, protein localization or quantification by immunofluorescence analysis, Western blotting, ELISA assay, and flow-based assays.
Other duties as assigned.
Expected Salary $19.20 – $22.00 per hour
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related life science field.
Preferred
Specific work experience in molecular, biochemical or cell biology techniques.
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Software programs.
Willing to work with human cells, tissues and laboratory mice.
