Location Waldorf, MD and surrounding area (float job)
Schedule Must be available 6 am–6 pm Monday‑Friday. Most locations close by 4:30 pm; some close at 6 pm. Shift normally 8–4:30.
Duration Contract position for 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

Job Summary The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training and making workflow recommendations.
Responsibilities
Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data and decontamination.
Update patient information and maintain detailed records.
Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
Fully understand physicians' orders and match laboratory requisitions to specimen tubes.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
Verify that test requisitions are correct with 100% accuracy.
Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.
Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attend annual department trainings.
Answer telephone calls and review laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
Minimum six months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum two years of experience.
Eligibility Requires a clean driving record and reliable transportation. Mileage expenses are paid for travel between the home base PSC and other locations.
