Essential Responsibilities
Installs, repairs, maintains, and tests machinery, mechanical equipment (hoists, etc.), engines (forklift, trucks, transport vehicles), motors, pumps, pneumatic equipment. Uses hand and power tools, precision measuring devices and test equipment. Follows logical troubleshooting procedures to diagnose and repair as problems are encountered. Follows diagrams, blueprints, operation manuals, and manufacturers' specifications. Observes, listens, and uses test instruments to determine sources of problems. Determines feasibility of repair or necessity of action toward various types of equipment.
Moves, dismantles, or installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and drawings, using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools, dollies, and rollers. Fabricates frames for securing machinery for moving, as needed. Constructs foundations for machines, aligns and assembles equipment.
Transports machinery, tools, equipment, etc., between departments and plants, using a forklift or truck, ensuring that items being moved are properly secured before moving.
Operates lathe or mill to machine parts to dimensional specifications. Operates drill press, grinders, and various power tools to adjust, re-fabricate or produce functional parts or fasteners, such as brackets, supports, etc.
Replaces electrical equipment for plant services, such as motor or pump changeovers, etc., following safe practices.
Maintains, diagnoses, and repairs hydraulic systems, from basic single‑function operations to large‑scale multi‑pump and PLC‑controlled devices.
Welds parts, equipment (scrap burner, transport trailer, structural framework, etc.), or fixtures as necessary using various materials and diverse welding methods, such as MIG, TIG, stick, oxy‑acetylene, etc.
Repairs plumbing problems such as opening clogged drains, repairing leaks, repairing clogged sumps, repairing nonfunctional toilets, replacing or repairing various shut‑off valves or spigots, as directed by the Journey Level Plumber. Repairs or replaces valves, pipes, connectors, etc. in lines containing chemicals such as caustic solutions, acids, priming mix, etc.
Removes snow and spreads gravel or salt on forklift routes, using tractor and gravel‑spreading equipment.
Services and repairs air compressor systems.
Non‑essential Responsibilities
Backs up other maintenance personnel as needed or assigned.
Keeps work bench organized and free of clutter.
Responds to emergency calls after the regularly scheduled shift ends or on weekends, when available.
Trains new employees to the department/area as assigned.
Performs any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Millwright experience preferred.
Prior hydraulics experience preferred.
Must be able to field weld using diverse welding methods, such as MIG, TIG, and stick.
Must be able to read, write, speak English fluently, and have basic math skills for mechanical calculations.
Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have a good safety record.
Must have good housekeeping and organizational skills.
Must be able to learn to drive a forklift safely in 30 days.
Must have advanced mechanical skills and be able to evaluate and diagnose on the fly.
Must be capable of learning to operate and maintain all machinery/equipment in the department.
Ability to work independently without continual supervision.
Work Environment Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.
Pay Range Hourly Rate: $32.85 - $39.57
