Summary Under the supervision of nursing staff, provides direct patient care and assists with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
Observe and record patient behavior and activities. Report any changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggest modifications to the treatment plan.
Assist patients with performing activities of daily living.
Provide crisis intervention on the unit to maintain safety.
Provide or assist with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
Inventory and monitor patient belongings.
Manage supplies on the unit.

BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) – American Heart Association

BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) – Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)

Additional Job Information Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: No prior work experience required.
Psychiatric Assistants who work in any of the Behavioral Health units are required to perform safety rounds on all assigned patients every 15 minutes and to record activities/locations of patients on the assigned rounding sheet upon the completion of each 15 minute rounding session.
