Summary Oversees and manages administrative functions within an assigned office(s) or division(s). Manages the day to day operations of a physician practice.
Responsibilities
Ensures all safety procedures established by the Department, Radiation Safety Officer and the Radiation Safety Committee are followed. Ensures department staff is trained and educated in Crew Resource Management as well as coordinates the establishment and maintenance of crew resource management tools and policy. Participates in the establishment of these procedures as well as other new initiatives for safety.
Manages day to day activities to meet departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Prepares and completes required documents as it relates to the operations of the radiation oncology program in required time frames. Assists with operating and capital budget.
Completes annual evaluations as required, conducts coaching and counseling as required, develops plan for resolution of identified needs, submits quality and quantitative responses to monthly MOR for radiation oncology program.
Assures that active QI programs are in place for high risk, problem prone areas and or identified areas for improvement. Assists the Director in developing and monitoring QI/QA, including performing chart reviews. Interfaces with Oncology Data Center to assure the success of these activities and or to identify opportunities. Holds staff accountable for results.
Assists in establishing, implementing, and enforcing Policies and Procedures insuring the highest standard of patient care and satisfaction is achieved with the Radiation Oncology program.
Coordinates and evaluates the scheduling, staffing, and activities of all support staff to ensure optimum patient care and demonstrates proficiency in all current aspects of Radiation Oncology.
Assures proper billing accuracies through daily, weekly and monthly verification, working with the nurse auditor team, finance department, and physician practice.
Assures that the radiation oncology program and its facilities are maintained and operated in a manner that meets the compliance of the MHS administration, Joint Commission (JC), Human Resources (HR), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Oncology Care Model (OCM), Oncology Home Model (OHM), American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation, Radiation Safety Committee, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (COC) accreditation.
