Higdon Elementary School – Newburg, MD
Early Learning Center – LaPlata, MD
Pay : $15.00 per hour. Group Leader certification required for those who do not have the 90 hours for a Group Leader per licensing.
Hours
Thornton Elementary: 6am-9am, 3pm-6pm (Monday–Friday)
Higdon Elementary: 6am-9am, 3:15pm-6pm (Monday–Friday)
Early Learning Center (Laplata): 6am-9:45am, 3:45pm-6pm (Monday–Friday)
AlphaBEST Education provides extended day, summer, and enrichment programs that are designed to inspire and engage students while they discover and learn beyond the school day in a fun, safe environment.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
Enjoys working with children in a structured, high‑energy environment
Takes child safety seriously and follows procedures closely
Is flexible, reliable, and ready to jump in wherever needed
In This Role, You Will
Assist with daily curriculum activities (World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts) while encouraging positive peer interactions
Make child safety the top priority at all times
Keep the space clean and organized
Help create an environment where kids feel supported and included
Build strong relationships with teammates, kids, families, and school staff
Requirements
High School diploma or GED required
CPR and First Aid certification required
Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting (up to 25 pounds)
3–6 months experience in a childcare educational setting
Must be at least 18 years old
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs
Must have a high school diploma or GED
