Overview
Sentara Emergency Department/ED Ambulatory – Port Warwick is hiring a Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech). The role is a mid‑shift full‑time position (11:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.) based in Newport News, VA.
Responsibilities
Assist the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency and minor emergency care patients.
Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Completion of one of the following programs: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), US Navy Hospital Corps School, or Emergency Services programs including EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic.
Current student enrolled in a clinical program with at least one completed semester of RN, LPN, RT, or PT, or current work experience within the last 3 years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.
AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Work Shift Mid‑shift: 11:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.
