Job Summary
RN NICU Seasonal PRN at Medical City Lewisville (HCA Healthcare). Seasonal program runs September 21, 2025 – April 4, 2026. Pay $62 per hour plus differential.

Responsibilities Under general supervision the Staff RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Medical Center of Lewisville. In collaboration with patient, patient’s family, and other members of the health care team, the RN is responsible for assessing the nursing care needs of patients, planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care. The RN provides direct care and/or supervises nursing care of LVN’s and non‑licensed nursing staff. The RN is responsible for providing care consistent with the Nursing Department’s policies, procedures and standards of practice. RN’s are responsible for providing care appropriate to the age‑specific (neonates and newborns), developmental and safety needs of the assigned patient population. Charge nurse duties – the charge nurse makes patient assignments and supervises and directs the staff and unit activities for the assigned shift.
Qualifications
Neonate Resuscitate certification within 90 days of employment start date.
Registered Nurse licensed in Texas or compact license.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor within 30 days of employment start date.
STABLE certification within 18 months of hire.
Cardiac STABLE certification within 18 months of hire.
1 year of Level III NICU experience required, 2 years preferred.
Minimum 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
Four weekend shifts required each 4‑week schedule period.
Two holiday shifts during the 32‑week period.
Seasonal staff are PRN status employees; first call‑off hours are not guaranteed.
Seasonal staff eligible for 401(k) and retirement contribution per PRN policy; no other benefits.
Clinical competency evaluation required once for seasonal RNs.
Current full‑time, part‑time, and PRN Level 3 employees not eligible to join the seasonal program for 2025–26, except those who participated in the previous year.
Current HWS employees not eligible for the seasonal program.
Program Requirements
All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
Four weekend shifts are required each 4‑week schedule period.
During the course of the 32‑week period, the employee is required to work two holiday shifts.
Seasonal staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call‑off; no guaranteed hours.
Seasonal staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
Registered nurses in the seasonal program have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
