Field Supervisor - Construction Materials Testing

We are seeking a
Construction Materials Field Supervisor
to oversee daily activities of technical field staff performing soil, concrete, and construction materials testing in both field and laboratory environments. In this leadership role, you’ll coordinate scheduling, provide technical guidance, support project delivery, and ensure quality, safety, and client expectations are consistently met.
Responsibilities
Provide direct oversight to field staff performing soil, concrete, and construction materials testing
Track daily project progress and upcoming project requirements
Communicate schedule updates and resource needs with Department Managers, Project Managers, and Office Managers
Plan, schedule, and dispatch field technicians to project sites based on certifications, skills, and project priorities
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding timelines, staffing, and project status
Ensure all testing follows project plans, specifications, and quality standards
Manage workload flow (“pushing/pulling work in”) and support billing activities
Deliver training, coaching, and professional development to field staff
Assist in preparing proposals and cost estimates for clients
Participate in recruiting and selecting technical field staff
Identify project risks; follow risk management policies and protect company interests
Lead safety efforts, promote safe work practices, and ensure pre-task planning
Support continuous quality monitoring and engage APRs early in project phases
Provide hands‑on testing support as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred
4–6 years of relevant experience in construction materials testing or related field
Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
Preferred Certification
Certifications or licensure in a relevant field (e.g., ACI, NICET, nuclear gauge, soil/concrete testing certifications)
