Overview
Staxmatic is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a strong background in commercial Mechanical and Plumbing (MEP) construction to oversee mechanical and plumbing projects from pre-construction through closeout. Projects include K-12 schools, healthcare and medical facilities, higher education campuses, data centers, and large commercial buildings throughout Texas.
This role manages all phases of commercial construction, including pre-construction planning, budgeting, cost control, scheduling, procurement, field coordination, and project closeout. The Project Manager has full responsibility for mechanical and plumbing scope, overseeing HVAC, piping, plumbing systems, subcontractors, vendors, and internal field teams.
The Project Manager works closely with Superintendents, Plumbing Foremen, Mechanical Foremen, subcontractors, and General Contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, quality, and contract requirements. This position is ideal for a PM experienced in commercial MEP construction who understands both field operations and financial management.

Duties and Responsibilities
Manage commercial mechanical and plumbing construction projects through all phases, from pre-construction planning to closeout
Oversee mechanical and plumbing scope, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
Develop and manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and change orders
Create, monitor, and update project schedules in coordination with Superintendents and field leadership
Lead coordination with Mechanical and Plumbing Foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and General Contractors
Monitor field progress, productivity, and manpower to ensure project milestones are met
Review and manage RFIs, submittals, and contract documents
Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and project specifications
Identify risks, constructability issues, and scope conflicts; drive timely resolution
Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and closeout materials
Support client communication and ensure alignment with project expectations
Requirements & Qualifications
5+ years of construction project management experience in commercial Mechanical and/or Plumbing (MEP) construction
Proven experience managing commercial mechanical and plumbing projects, not residential
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, piping, and construction sequencing
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field — or equivalent hands‑on experience
Intermediate proficiency with MS Project, Excel, and other construction management tools
Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced commercial construction environment
