Envision Imaging seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at our South Arlington, TX location PRN (As-Needed) | Position Pay Range: $41.98 - $54.10
Summary/Objective:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment. Detects and maps radiopharmaceuticals in patients’ body using a camera to produce photographic or computer images. Calculates doses to be administered.
Essential Functions
Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
Performs nuclear medicine and/or PET scans while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
Maintains record of receipt and disposal of radioactive materials. Manages radioactive disposables for proper decay and disposal.
Performs injections of radioisotope and orders radioisotopes for next day’s exams.
Transfers images to other locations as needed.
Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Two plus years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine
Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
Detail oriented, self‑motivated, a problem solver and a team player
Ability to excel in a very fast‑pace team environment
Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation
Education/Certifications
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certification.
Registry in Nuclear Medicine (N) or (CNMT)
Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
Current CPR/BLS certification
Additional Eligibility Qualifications None required for this position.
