The Assistant Superintendent at Glenbrook Club reports directly to the Director of Agronomy and Superintendent. The Assistant directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course, practice areas, and clubhouse landscape.
Areas of Responsibility:
Assist in the planning and scheduling of agronomic practices
Supervise and train employees on the proper use of all golf course equipment
Aid in personnel management, motivation, and evaluation
Pesticide and fertilizer application, calibration, and record keeping
Operation of all golf course equipment when necessary
Contribute to the maintenance, function, and performance of the irrigation system
Promote sound cultural practices to develop healthy and sustainable turfgrass
Implement and conduct safety-training programs
Employment Standards:
Abide by the rules and guidelines set forth in the employee handbook
Posses a working knowledge of all aspects of golf course maintenance
Maintain a positive attitude on a daily basis and set a great example to the staff
Seek ways to achieve the most efficient utilization of workers and equipment
Strive to provide optimal playing conditions for our golfing membership
Applicants should possess a turfgrass management or horticulture degree or be nearing completion of a similar certification program.
