The Accounting Manager oversees all daily accounting operations, including billing, AP/AR oversight, reconciliation accuracy, system maintenance, collections, Month‑end close and financial reporting. This position manages a team of specialists and ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of all financial transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and mentor a team of accounting specialists responsible for AP/AR, billing, and expense processing.
Manage the company’s billing, collections, and customer account reconciliations, ensuring timely follow‑up and accurate application of payments.
Oversee accounts payable and vendor management, including invoice processing, approvals, and payment schedules.
Review and approve accounts receivable (AR) transactions, cash applications, and deposits.
Prepare and review monthly billing and collection reports; monitor aging reports and resolve discrepancies proactively.
Coordinate and support month‑end close and financial reporting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
Collaborate with cross‑functional departments (Sales, Operations, and HR) to ensure accurate financial data flow.
Assist with payroll and benefits processing and payments.
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing documentation as needed.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency across accounting functions.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support management decisions.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
CPA preferred but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (Acumatica preferred).
Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
