Talos Energy LLC
This position will be responsible for the daily royalties, severance tax and reconciliation activities at Talos Energy including but not limited to:
Report oil, gas, and NGLs royalties and severance taxes in a timely and accurate manner to ensure correct payment obligations and reporting to Federal and State governmental agencies.
Reconciliation of all general ledger accounts related to royalties and severance tax liability.
Accurate calculation of Federal and State royalties and severance tax, including appropriate research into new or revised regulatory requirements.
Maintain and log incoming/outgoing regulatory correspondence
Coordinate and manage audits and the pertinent responses and rebuttals
Timely respond to internal & external inquiries and requests
Make related general ledger entries to record/clear payments
Comply with all internal and external audit/SOX controls established for revenue accounting
Perform additional duties as assigned, including potential simultaneous multiple projects
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Minimum 5 (five) years of oil and gas onshore/offshore revenue regulatory reporting experience required, with 10 (ten) or more years preferred
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Considerable knowledge of accounting practices and procedures in addition to current federal, state, and local regulations
Strong ONRR background preparing responses, been involved with audit by ONRR and managed the audit preferred
Prior revenue recognition experience in a fast paced organization preferred
Self-motivated, self-driven and with willingness to work in challenging environment
Ability to work independently or within a team structure with minimum supervision and possess an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Must be keen to detail and must be able to work effectively as a member of a team
Experience with MS Excel is required
Working knowledge of BOLO preferred
Flexible with changing priorities
Strong analytical and communication skills
Proficiency in MS Word preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.
