The Business Intelligence & Analytics Developer plays a key role in delivering reliable, insight-driven analytics using Epic’s reporting and data platforms. This role focuses on transforming clinical, operational, and financial data into meaningful dashboards, reports, and data extracts that support informed decision-making across the organization. Working in close partnership with application teams, business leaders, and data stakeholders, this individual ensures analytics solutions accurately reflect real-world workflows and organizational priorities. As experience grows, the role expands to include more complex data modeling, enterprise-level initiatives, and executive‑facing analytics. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhance analytics solutions utilizing Epic reporting platforms such as Clarity, Caboodle, Cogito, Radar, and SlicerDicer. Create and support production‑ready reports, dashboards, and data extracts used by clinical, operational, and financial teams. Perform data validation, quality checks, and testing to ensure accuracy and consistency of analytics deliverables. Partner with Epic application and operational teams to translate business needs into effective reporting solutions. Maintain documentation related to data definitions, report logic, and validation processes. Follow established governance, change management, and data standards to ensure reliable reporting outputs. Participate in ongoing education related to Epic analytics tools, data architecture, and best practices. Qualifications
Education Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, data analytics, healthcare administration, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered. Experience Experience working with Epic reporting environments or healthcare analytics strongly preferred. Hands‑on knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data warehouse concepts. Exposure to business intelligence or visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS is a plus. Skills & Competencies
Working knowledge of Epic Cogito reporting architecture, including Clarity, Caboodle, Radar, and SlicerDicer. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with attention to data accuracy and integrity. Ability to interpret operational requirements and convert them into clear, usable analytics solutions. Effective communicator capable of working with both technical teams and clinical or business stakeholders. Understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical data, and/or revenue cycle processes preferred. Certification Expectations
Epic Cogito Fundamentals certification and at least one Epic Clarity Data Model certification (Access, Clinical, or Revenue Cycle) required within 60 days of hire. Additional Epic certifications or badges (e.g., Radar, SlicerDicer, Cogito Analytics Administration) expected as part of continued growth and role advancement.
