Job Overview The Senior Epic Analytics Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise‑grade analytics solutions using Epic Cogito tools. This role plays a critical part in enabling data‑driven decision‑making across clinical, operational, and executive domains by delivering high‑quality reports, dashboards, and analytical insights. The position combines deep technical expertise with strong consulting and leadership skills, partnering with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable, sustainable analytics solutions, and driving data integrity, performance optimization, and continuous improvement across the enterprise analytics ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Epic Analytics Development – Design, build, and maintain analytics solutions using Epic Cogito tools, including Reporting Workbench, Radar dashboards, SlicerDicer, Clarity (SQL‑based reporting), and Caboodle (enterprise data warehouse).

Develop complex SQL queries, data models, and views to support clinical, operational, financial, and executive reporting.

Create intuitive, performant dashboards and reports tailored to executive leadership and key stakeholders.

Ensure analytics solutions are scalable, reusable, and aligned with enterprise data standards.

Lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with clinical, operational, and business stakeholders; translate business and clinical workflows into technical specifications and analytics designs.

Serve as a trusted analytics advisor, guiding stakeholders on data interpretation, visualization best practices, and solution feasibility.

Present findings, dashboards, and insights to executive leadership in a clear and actionable manner.

Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across all analytics solutions; validate source data and reconcile discrepancies.

Establish and follow best practices for data governance, documentation, and metadata management; support data quality initiatives.

Take leadership on analytics initiatives and project workstreams; mentor junior analysts and developers.

Collaborate with project managers and cross‑functional teams to manage timelines, dependencies, and deliverables; identify risks and drive resolution.

Optimize report and dashboard performance across Clarity and Caboodle environments; identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual reporting, and improve analytics efficiency.

Continuously evaluate and enhance existing analytics solutions based on user feedback and evolving business needs.

Design solutions with long‑term sustainability, adaptability, and extensibility; stay current with Epic upgrades, Cogito enhancements, and analytics best practices.

Technical Skills & Experience

Strong hands‑on experience with Epic Cogito, including Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer, Clarity, and Caboodle.

Advanced SQL skills with experience developing complex queries and optimizing performance.

Strong understanding of Epic data models and healthcare data workflows.

Experience designing executive‑level dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions.

Proven ability to manage analytics projects and deliver results in complex environments.

Preferred: Experience with Epic clinical, operational, and financial data domains; familiarity with data visualization best practices and BI tools integrated with Epic.

Epic Cogito, Clarity, or Caboodle certifications preferred.
