The opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy’s Service Business as a Trade Operations Specialist, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting the classification and movement of products, software, and technology across global markets. You’ll work at ensuring that supply chain operations, technical product management, and our service activities meet all trade operations requirements. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability and efficiency of the power grid by enabling seamless, compliant operations in a rapidly evolving industry.
How you’ll make an impact
Coordinate the information needed to classify products, software, and technology for export and import according to government and internal regulations.
Support the preparation and review of product classification reports and master data management.
Analyze goods for upcoming shipments, identifying and coordinating the classification of items in response to regulatory developments.
Provide timely support for the classification of purchased goods and assist with the documents required for customs declarations.
Deliver training and guidance to business unit staff on trade operations and document requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of compliant trade information into daily operations.
Monitor, manage, and mitigate non-compliance based on the Global Trade Compliance team’s requirements.
Responsible to coordinate with the Global Trade Compliance team to maintain operational requirements for cross border trade.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your background
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, legal, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in import, export, or trade operations environments.
Knowledge of export control and customs regulations relevant to product classification.
Strong business mindset, responsiveness, and initiative.
Effective communicator and team player, able to collaborate across functions.
Customs Brokerage License preferred; technical knowledge of products, software, or applied technologies is helpful but not required.
