Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills to perform a variety of machining functions including facing, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, tooth cutting, and threading on parts such as castings, forgings, bar stock, and other machined components. Strong CNC programming skills are essential for this position. Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, machining methods, and sequence of operations. Program CNC machines, including creating new programs and modifying existing ones to efficiently produce parts that meet specifications and quality requirements. Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and workpieces on machines. Select and install required tooling in designated machine positions. Assemble and preset tooling for upcoming operations during automated cycles to minimize changeover or downtime. Enter commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions or manually input commands when necessary. Calculate and set machine controls for proper tooling position, cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow. Perform dry runs to detect errors in programs or tooling placement before machining the first part. Manufacture first-part samples and obtain approval before commencing production runs. Verify conformance of finished parts to specifications and maintain required production records. Deburr all completed work. Change tools and adjust machine setups as required for machining sequence or to maintain tolerances. Manually operate machines for non-automated functions or when programming is faulty. Clean machines, tooling, and work areas at the end of each job and shift. Perform routine machine maintenance according to the designated schedule. Complete other duties as assigned. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist, with demonstrated CNC milling and programming expertise.
