Primary Responsibilities

Set technical operational direction for data infrastructure, governance, and platform engineering standards

Partner with data science, analytics, and software teams to deliver high‑impact solutions

Drive modernization initiatives

Evaluate emerging technologies and guide adoption strategies across the organization

Champion data security, compliance, and cost optimization in multi‑cloud environments

Architect and implement scalable data pipelines, lakes, or warehouses using cloud‑native tools

Lead Infrastructure‑as‑Code deployments

Optimize distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Databricks) for performance and reliability

Oversee CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platform components

Monitor and troubleshoot cloud data services to ensure uptime and resilience

Work closely with developers, network engineers, and security teams to support cloud‑based applications and services

Support cross‑functional coordination across engineering, cybersecurity, and program management teams

Promote continuous improvement through feedback loops and process refinement

Ensure alignment with USCG mission priorities and Leidos delivery standards

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business)

12+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering

Deep expertise in AWS (e.g., Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda) and Azure (e.g., Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS)

Proven track record of leading enterprise‑scale data platform initiatives

Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed computing frameworks

Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks

Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures

Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment

Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust and DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting DHS, USCG, or other federal cloud modernization efforts

Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or other cloud‑native analytics platforms

Familiarity with data mesh, lakehouse architecture, and real‑time streaming (Kafka, Kinesis)

Strong documentation and cross‑functional collaboration skills

Experience working with technical teams in cloud, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT environments
