We are seeking a proactive

Facilities Water Process Engineer

to lead the design, commissioning, and long-term operation of industrial wastewater systems for a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring our production site meets rigorous environmental standards while advancing our corporate commitment to sustainable water management.

Located initially across our

Tempe and Peoria, AZ

sites during the construction phase, this position will transition to our permanent Peoria operations center. You will have the opportunity to influence the system from the ground up, moving from engineering oversight to daily operational management.

Key Responsibilities Project Lifecycle & Commissioning

System Design Support:

Assist in the design, installation, and startup of complex treatment systems for organic and inorganic waste streams.

Collaboration:

Partner with external contractors and internal engineering teams to ensure all water systems are scalable, reliable, and integrated into the site’s master plan.

Operational Transition:

Lead the handover from construction to full-scale operations, establishing the protocols for daily system monitoring and preventive maintenance.

Operational Management & Compliance

Daily Oversight:

Manage the day-to-day functions of the treatment plant, including troubleshooting, chemical handling, and maintaining SCADA-based automated monitoring tools.

Regulatory Reporting:

Own the permitting process, ensuring all discharge meets county and state regulations. Prepare and submit all required environmental documentation.

Sustainability & ESG:

Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing water consumption, improving treatment efficiency, and supporting corporate ESG reporting.

Safety & Documentation

Record Keeping:

Maintain precise logs for water quality, flow rates, and chemical inventories.

Protocol Enforcement:

Implement and uphold strict safety standards for chemical processing and high-pressure equipment operation.

Required Qualifications Educational & Technical Foundation:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience:

3+ years in wastewater treatment operations, ideally within a high-tech manufacturing or industrial chemical environment.

Technical Knowledge:

Deep understanding of biological, chemical, and physical treatment methodologies.

Software Proficiency:

Experience with SCADA systems and design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or MS Office.

Physical & Operational Readiness:

Licensing:

A Professional Engineering License (PE) is a significant advantage.

Environmental Adaptability:

Ability to work in various weather conditions, climb ladders, and operate at elevations or in confined spaces using appropriate PPE.

Physical Capability:

Regularly able to lift up to 50 lbs and adjust heavy industrial equipment.

Medical Fitness:

Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator and work in proximity to sharp or temperature-sensitive equipment.

Location & Mobility:

Ability to work onsite at

Tempe and Peoria

locations, with occasional flexibility for remote work once operations stabilize.
