Position Purpose Purpose of the position:

As a welding QC Inspector, you will ensure welded products meet strict quality, safety, and performance standards by overseeing the entire welding process from reviewing documents and inspecting materials/prep, to conducting visual and NDT inspections before, during, and after welding, identifying defects, and documenting everything to guarantee compliance and integrity for critical applications like pipelines or structures.

Responsibilities

In accordance with the Quality Control Plans, execute the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site issuing the relevant Quality Records

Verify welding parameters and consumables during operations

Check availability of welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and qualifications

Witness mechanical test at laboratory during PQR execution

Check welders qualifications

Check the availability and suitability of the welding equipment consumables, pre‑heating, welding, heat treatment, bevels, the extent of the repairs made by the various welders (taking any corrective action required), the heat treatment record diagrams

Ensure that all welding, heat treatment and any hardness testing are in compliance with the relevant codes and specifications

Perform pipe line‑up check, ensuring that all installed pipe/fittings are compliant to the correct specification and that the material is in accordance with the specified material traceability requirements

Carry out visual inspections and issue relevant reports

Orderly collect and manage/check documents certifying tests, controls and inspections documents, ensuring that all welding and testing related records are properly retrievable within the final As Built dossier

In case of subcontractor activities, ensure the correct implementation of the approved Quality Control Plans/Inspection Test Plans, witnessing inspection and collecting relevant records

Qualifications

Education: Technical Diploma or Vocational training in Mechanical, Quality, Engineering or related fields

Experience: 3‑5 years as a Welding QC Inspector in the Oil & Gas sector

Languages: Fluently in English and Portuguese

Technical Skills: Knowledge of NDT techniques and testing methods, welding processes, understanding of ISO 9001, Pilpiles C (restricted certificate preferable)

Location: Offshore work

Residency: Must reside in Angola and possess a valid residence card; sponsorship not offered
