Summary Our company has an immediate opening for a

Diesel Mechanic

in

Miami, Fl . The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles such as excavators, loaders, pickup trucks, etc. Their duties include running diagnostic tests, performing repairs as needed and maintaining detailed records of the vehicles and equipment they have serviced.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Run and analyze diagnostic tests on equipment and vehicles.

Repair/rebuild (replace engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems) all equipment and vehicles as determined by the Shop Manager & schedules.

Perform routine & preventative maintenance of equipment and vehicles as needed and on time.

Operate construction equipment and vehicles in order to repair.

Strive to maintain zero repeat/redo repairs.

Clean equipment and vehicles in the process of making repairs.

Maintain daily logs in a legitimate, timely and organized fashion.

Meet daily, weekly & monthly safety inspection goal at shop & in the field.

Assist in keeping the shop organized and clean.

Assist with small tool and equipment maintenance, repair as needed.

Seek knowledge of new technologies/methods used in truck and equipment maintenance.

Recommend measures to Shop Manager to improve safety, production, equipment performance and repair quality.

Abide by company work policies and safety rules.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Valid driver's license. CDL a plus but not required.

Good IT and diagnostic skills.

Good interpersonal & organizational skills.

Attention to detail.

Must be able to pass a drug, background and physical test.

Education and/or Experience

Degree or diploma in diesel equipment.

Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.

Language Skills

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Ability to communicate with employees, mechanics and supervisors, to perform job functions and report any mechanical issue.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Physical Demands

Climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and walking.

Ability to carry up to 150 lbs.
