ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY: As a Tile Setter, you are a key member of a crew responsible for punch-out tile work in a fast-paced construction environment in an occupied residential high ‑ rise project. Our work is 100% turnkey – so once the old piping is replaced, our drywall, paint, carpentry, and tiling teams are responsible for every final touch, including general labor tasks as directed. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, precise, patient, production-oriented, and possesses a willingness to “do whatever it takes” to facilitate the completion of each unit.
This role is intended to be a full-time hourly position, based in San Diego, and reports to a Project Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Install ceramic, porcelain, stone, glass, and other tile materials on floors, walls, showers, tubs, backsplashes, and countertops Perform layout, measuring, and cutting of tile to ensure accurate alignment and clean finishes Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including leveling, waterproofing, and applying underlayment or membranes Set tile using appropriate mortars, adhesives, spacers, and leveling systems Grout, caulk, seal, and clean tile surfaces to achieve a finished, professional appearance Complete punch-list items, including replacing cracked, chipped, or improperly set tiles; re-grouting, re-caulking, and adjusting tile transitions as needed Ensure all tile work meets design specifications, building codes, and quality standards Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to resolve outstanding items efficiently Perform minor touch-ups and adjustments required for final inspections, walkthroughs, and close-out Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas within occupied or near-completion units Meet project deadlines to support timely unit turnover and delivery Assist with the safe and timely movement of materials throughout the project Follow all company procedures, safety requirements, and job-site protocols Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, residents, and others Maintain a professional demeanor, ensuring minimal disruption to residents Identify and recommend process improvements, ensuring improved quality and deliverables

Key Requirements: 3+ years of experience in a similar role Strong knowledge of finish carpentry techniques and materials Ability to read and interpret drawings, punch lists, and specifications Proficient with hand and power tools relevant to tile setting Ability to work independently and follow instructions with attention to detail and quality craftsmanship Reliable, punctual, and able to work as scheduled Strong work ethic and willingness to support various field tasks with a positive “no job is too big or too small” attitude Proficiency in English, written and spoken, with good communication skills Must be able to regularly lift and carry 50-75 lbs, be capable of working at heights in high ‑ rise environments, and able to climb stairs and ladders
PREFERRED CANDIDATES: Will also have OSHA 10 certification; a high school diploma or GED; be proficient in Spanish; and/or have prior related military experience.
Salary Range:
$23 - $30 per hour based upon experience and qualifications plus eligibility for a generous weekly piece-rate bonus
