Practice Overview Care-Pets Animal Hospital and Wellness Center was founded in 1987. Shortly after, the practice grew and required more space. In October 2001, Care-Pets moved to its current location at 8800 Old State Road 60. The new facility provides spacious lobby, four exam rooms, and space for a surgery suite, radiology, and lab, among other specialized diagnostic procedures.

More about the Role Our practice welcomes veterinarians of all experience levels to join our team! Our ideal veterinarian will have an interest in client communication, dentistry, and surgery. We handle a varied caseload of small animal, avian, and pocket pets and use Fear-Free tools and protocols.

We have a supportive staff of experienced technicians and veterinary assistants, fostering a fun and laid-back environment. Our doctors and support team collaborate in a modern, well‑kept facility equipped with a class IV laser, digital radiography, and dental radiography.

Essential Responsibilities

Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.

Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.

Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.

Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.

Provide counsel around pet end‑of‑life care.

Maintain patients' medical records.

Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.

Appropriate state licensure.

Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.

Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
