Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring CVICU and NextStage CVVH machine experience.
Responsibilities
Work in the Cardio Thoracic ICU of a hospital
Care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries, heart/lung transplants, and use of medical devices
Acuity adaptable unit with mixed surgical and transplant patient population
Requires experience using the NextStage CVVH machine
Three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating day (7:00–19:30) and night (19:00–7:30) schedules
Every other weekend and some holiday shifts are required
Travelers are first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations as needed
No call required
Responsibilities include specialized care for patients requiring cardiac and thoracic surgery, transplants, and technological support
Work as a collaborative member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery and Transplant team
Travelers may float to different units or locations within the organization based on needs
Orientation and additional training will be provided as needed
Holiday coverage is part of the scheduling requirements
Scrub or dress code information will be provided by the facility
Parking onsite requires a permit, but alternative transportation options are available
Requirements
Active WI or compact RN license from permanent address state
BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
A minimum of two years acute care experience within the last three years
Prior CVICU experience required
Experience with NextStage CVVH machine is required
Basic arrhythmia and telemetry experience required; must pass a Telemetry test before start
Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the assignment location
