Position Summary: The Senior Manager, Credit will provide strategic leadership and financial oversight for the company’s credit, accounts receivable, and rebate management functions within a complex, distribution-driven business. Reporting to the Controller, this role will set the strategic vision for credit operations, ensuring disciplined risk management while enabling growth and optimizing working capital. The Senior Credit Manager will lead and mentor the Credit Manager and broader AR team, driving process improvement, data transparency, and cross-functional alignment with Sales, Pricing, and Finance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Define and execute the overall credit strategy to balance business growth with prudent risk management and cash flow optimization.

Provide leadership, guidance, and development to the Credit Manager, ensuring effective execution of day-to-day operations and alignment with strategic goals.

Partner closely with the Controller to shape long-term financial objectives related to credit, collections, and rebate management.

Establish and refine enterprise credit policies, governance standards, and risk frameworks that support scalable growth.

Oversee high-level credit decisions, escalations, and key customer risk assessments in partnership with Sales leadership.

Monitor portfolio exposure and proactively identify emerging credit risks or structural inefficiencies.

Develop and deliver actionable reporting and analytics on AR aging, DSO, credit exposure, and cash flow trends for Finance and Executive Leadership.

Translate data insights into strategic recommendations that improve liquidity, strengthen controls, and inform business decisions.

Drive adoption of digital tools, automation, and dashboards to enhance transparency and performance tracking.

Provide oversight of rebate program design, ensuring alignment with pricing strategies, margin improvement goals, and financial accuracy.

Partner cross-functionally with Pricing, Sales, and Finance to evaluate rebate performance, streamline processes, and enhance profitability.

Ensure accurate calculation, accrual, and reporting of rebate liabilities and payments.

Serve as a key liaison between Finance, Sales, and Pricing to ensure cohesive customer account management, credit alignment, and dispute resolution.

Participate in strategic customer discussions to influence terms, structure deals, and resolve escalated credit or AR issues.

Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience across credit and rebate processes.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business required; advanced degree or certification (CBA, CCE) preferred.

8+ years of progressive credit and AR experience, including leadership of teams and oversight of complex portfolios.

Strong analytical and financial acumen, with demonstrated success developing credit strategies and implementing process improvements.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.

Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and reporting skills, with proficiency in ERP and BI/reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Power BI, Tableau).

Experience managing credit policies and processes in a

distribution, manufacturing, or multi-entity environment

preferred.

Strong understanding of customer terms, trade credit, and rebate structures within a complex B2B setting.

Demonstrated success leading process improvement or automation initiatives that enhanced accuracy, efficiency, or visibility.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence decision-making.

High level of business acumen and strategic thinking; able to connect financial data to business outcomes.
