Job Overview In the role of Principal Data Architect working in Milwaukee, WI you will be part of the Information Technology team. The Principal Data Architect plays a crucial role in designing and developing the data systems and architectures that form the foundation of an organization’s data management. You will set architecture standards and frameworks that all data architects will leverage, drive forward‑looking architecture roadmaps, and partner with Product Managers and Data Intelligence teams to continuously improve data governance and management practices.
Responsibilities
Drive continuous improvement in data governance and management practices across the enterprise.
Support the enterprise‑wide data strategy, institute and manage an enterprise data model, and build a fit‑for‑purpose data architecture practice.
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to build global data architecture practices that harmonize traditional and modern opportunities.
Provide direct and indirect support to internal data architects and third parties to ensure successful data architecture implementations.
Maintain data architecture standards across the organization and enforce policies for effective data management.
Partner with the Data Intelligence team to support an enterprise‑wide data inventory, data dictionary, and metadata, including data lineage reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
8–10 years of experience in data architecture, including data engineering, data warehousing, analytics, and Business Intelligence.
Certified Data Professional (highly preferred).
Experience managing a data architecture practice in a large, multi‑national company (CPG industry a plus).
5+ years of experience with Data Lake Infrastructure, Lakehouse, data warehousing, and data analytics tools.
Deep understanding of database technology and analytic platform data use.
Expert proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, and cloud‑based platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Strong collaboration skills, accountability, a thirst for learning, and alignment with Molson Coors core values.
Pay and Benefits Salary range: $124,100 – $162,800. In addition to a competitive base salary, this role offers incentive plans, comprehensive health, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off benefits, a total rewards program, wellness program, and an Employee Assistance Program.
